On December 2015, Benita wrote her first slam poem titled “Six Reasons Why I Hate Attachment” and cited Blythe Baird as one of her style inspirations. She ended up receiving a positive note from Baird and challenged herself to write for the next couple of months - a poem a day. That led to the book, Fragmented Bliss, in May 2016 and subsequently, being asked to contribute to an International Anthology of Poetry by Z Publishing House in August 2016. She has been published in the Onism Journal and has workshopped “Ode to Moisturizer” with Olivia Gatwood who remarked her work as refreshing among other positive adjectives.
Currently, she shares her work with Vassar’s Wordsmiths and her small but dear-to-her-heart audience at girlcrieswolf.
